The fishery is tree lined and well maintained providing a picturesque and tranquil setting to enjoy your carp fishing, with a 5ft welded mesh otter fence providing security and peace of mind. We are surrounded by unspoiled countryside boasting an abundance of wildlife from deer, badgers and water voles to Owls, kingfisher, woodpeckers and Oyster catchers. Occasionally buzzards, Hawks and Osprey can be seen soaring the skies above the lakes.
The Trout lake has now been stocked with carp and due to open as a carp syndicate on 1st March 2017 supplementing Woodpecker an established syndicate with fish in excess of 45lb. Skeets lake is a three quarter acre pleasure lake stocked with Tench to 8lb+ bream to double figures and small carp.
Woodpecker is a mature and established lake being stocked in 1990's then used as a trout lake for approx 20 years, the syndicate was established in 2011 and has grown year on year. Fish have been chipped over the years to create an accurate record of stock, growth rates and general condition with approx 120 known fish including four over 40lb and a lake record of 45-04. There are approx 70 original commons a handful of original Mirrors with the remainder being new Mirrors stocked over the past 5 years.
The lake being a clear gravel pit can get weeding in the summer months but has always been fish-able albeit a little closer in. There is an abundance of features to fish to with many bars troughs and silt areas. Purpose built swims are dug into the bank with plenty of room to bivvy up and relax, spaced to provide plenty of water yet still be sociable.
